Change of Status from Worker / Student to Visitor
If you’re currently in Canada on a work permit or study permit and your circumstances have changed—such as finishing your job, completing your studies, or waiting on a new permit—you may need to change your status to a visitor to legally remain in Canada.

Changing to visitor status allows you to:
Remain in Canada legally after your current permit expires
