If you’ve lost, damaged, or never received an original Canadian immigration document, you can request a Verification of Status (VOS) or apply for a replacement document through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). What Is a Verification of Status (VOS)?
A Verification of Status document is an official record issued by IRCC that confirms your historical immigration information. It is often used when the original document is:

Lost, stolen, or destroyed
Incorrect or illegible
Required for legal or identification purposes (e.g., pension, passport, or citizenship applications)

When to Request a Replacement Document
You may need a replacement if you’ve lost or damaged:

Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR)
Record of Landing (IMM 1000)
Visitor Record
Work Permit
Study Permit
Temporary Resident Permit

Note: Not all documents can be reissued. In many cases, a VOS will be issued instead.

Government Fees

Application Fee: CAD $30 per request
This fee is non-refundable, even if your application is refused.

Permanent Resident Card Replacement: $50 CAD
Work Permit Replacement: $155 CAD
Study Permit Replacement: $155 CAD
Visitor Visa Replacement: $100 CAD
Refugee Travel Document Replacement: $50 – $75 CAD
